Frequently asked questions for:
How many DJs are using your service?
Currently we have over 2,500 DJs registered on our site and they are all allocated to specific DJs lists (ie National/Regional Radio DJs, Pirate/Community/Internet Radio DJs, Student Radio DJs, Club Tastemaker DJs, Club A List DJs (Commerical club DJs), Club B List DJs (Specialist club DJs), and Club C List DJs (Bar DJs). DJs range from national radio DJs such as Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank and Andi Durrant to large commercial club DJs.
Is it possible to limit the amount of downloads?
Yes – absolutely, we are very aware that some labels would prefer that only a certain number of downloads are available, so we work with you to target specific DJs and we can advise on numbers. You are also in control with when the track gets serviced and at what time. Many of our clients find this useful when they are planning an exclusive.
What genres of music do you plug?
We plug ALL genres of music and have pluggers with specialist knowledge and years of experience in Urban, Pop, Dance and Indie/Rock. As we cross a multitude of genres, it does mean that we can get your music to a wider range of DJs which a lot of our clients love. To see some of the acts we have worked with, please check out our client page .
Do you offer a physical mailout service and what other services besides club promotions do you offer?
Our service is 100% digital, so we do not offer a physical mailout service. We do know people who do though, so we can recommend who you can use. Besides club promotions we also offer a specialist radio promotions service, street team services and a watermarking service. We also manage producers for commissioned and spec remixes so can recommend a remix package that suits your campaign.
How long does a campaign generally last?
This usually depends on release date and when we receive the mixes, but on the whole most campaigns tend to run 6 – 8 weeks.
How much does the service cost?
Our club promotions plugging service starts at ÂŁ300 + VAT or if you simply want to service a track it costs ÂŁ50. You can then bolt on extra services such as specialist radio promotions, street team services, watermarking and organisation of promotional activity for an extra cost. If you are interested in these services, please get in touch and we can take you through it.
How can I pay?
You can pay via credit/debit card on our secure payment system on our website or you can issue us with a Purchase Order and we can invoice your company. Our payment terms are 30 days from the date of the invoice.
How many mixes can I upload for ÂŁ300?
Our fee includes the main track and any mixes. We don’t stipulate a maximum amount of mixes, but having listened to the mixes, we can advise on how many of them we think would work – we wouldn’t want to scare our DJs off with too many mixes. All we ask is that the track and all mixes are uploaded within the space of two weeks. Any mixes that are uploaded at a later date will mean that we will have to charge you again.
If I service a track through the site and a few weeks down the line decide I want it plugging is this possible?
Yes – this is fine. As the DJs have to leave feedback in order to release the MP3, we always have their feedback on our system, so as soon as you have paid for the plugging service, we can release all the feedback and then get our team of pluggers to plug the track further with those DJs that haven’t listened or downloaded it yet.
What security measure do you implement on the site so that my music doesn’t end up on a file-sharing site?
Digi DJ takes music piracy very seriously and have several security measures in place. DJs are only able to download the track once when they review a track, so that they are unable give their login details to friends for multi-downloads. The jukebox on our homepage uses a 96kbps mp3 and we always ensure that the name Digi DJ runs through the preview file. We also have a watermarking service which will enable us to pinpoint exactly where the track has come from should it distributed online without your consent. Details of the individuals who have leaked the track will be given to the record label and the DJ will be removed from our service with immediate effect, unless otherwise instructed.
What if I can’t hear the music to give a review?
Please download the latest version of flash here.
I had a break in my internet connection and couldn’t download properly and the website doesn’t give me the option to download it again. What can I do?
As long as we can see that you have left feedback, please get in touch and we can arrange a secure way of getting the music to you.
What format are the tracks available in?
All tracks are watermarked MP3 format (nearly always 320 Kbps). This delivers the quality of sound without taking up extensive hard disc space.
I registered to join, but cannot login?
You will only be able to login to your account once we have verified that you are a DJ with a regular residency/radio show and this can take time and once your account has been activated. When your account is active you will be sent an email confirming your login details. You will then be able to start downloading.
What if my account information changes?
Your profile can be changed at any time, you just need to click onto “Preferences” within your main DJ page.
I am already receiving music from other club promotion companies why should I join Digi DJ as well?
We have completely different clients from some of our competitors and we regularly have exclusive tracks on our site, so if you don’t join, then you will never know what you are missing out on. For most of our DJs, we are their first port of call when they are searching for new music and arranging their set lists.
